Paonazzo marble is a compact, fine-grained lithotype with an overall ivory color, locally tending to beige yellow and purplish red, with irregular veins, also anastomosed, of black, greenish color, limited to purple hues, with areas yellowish with a sub parallel trend to the veins, due to the presence of limonite oxides and hematite.
