The history of Pozzi Ginori began in 1735 when the Marquis Carlo Ginori, first started in Florence and then in Doccia the activity of his famous Manifattura, among the first and most prestigious in Europe.
In the following years, the company founded by Carlo Ginori, increasingly large and well-known, merges with other companies, created in different periods, but all contributing to the history of ceramic sanitary ware production in Italy: Richard ( built in 1928), the Manifattura di Laveno (1856) and the Pozzi (1868).
In 1975, due to the progressive integration of companies, brands and production units, the Società Ceramica Italiana Pozzi-Richard-Ginori Group is one of the largest and best known in the world, thanks also to the great innovation of Vitreous China, vitrified porcelain, that revolutionizes the world of bathroom fixtures: its patented name is lavenite.
The company flew among various markets, always obtaining excellent billing, until in 2015 Geberit AG acquired the Sanitec Group.
