The use of certified fumigated pallets allows you a problem-free shipment of your purchased goods and the prevention of mold formation on the surface of the wooden platform. Operating since 1956, the Packaging company we rely on produces and delivers standard and oversized, reversible and irreversible fumigated pallets, with 2 or 4 forking routes. It has its headquarters and is active throughout the Italian territory. The raw material comes exclusively from PEFC-certified companies, which draw wood from responsibly managed forests that are not subject to illegal logging. By resorting to the use of PEFC fumigated pallets, you cani actively contribute to respecting the natural growth rate of forests and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples. Not to mention that the packaging does not use chemical compounds such as dyes and additives within the manufacturing process of the fumigated pallets, which are therefore 100% recyclable.
Heat treatment of fumigated pallets
The transport outside the EU of raw wood packaging with a thickness greater than 6 mm is regulated by the ISPM 15 standard, which requires the wood of the platforms to be treated at high temperature (TH) or by fumigation with methyl bromide (MB). It is true that the latter treatment has been banned since 2010 due to the harmful effects it would have on the environment. For this reason, the mark to be affixed to ISPM 15 fumigated pallets must bear the initials HT, which refers to the heat treatment carried out according to the methods permitted by the regulations.
This operation consists in the elimination of potential harmful organismsby exposing the pallet to temperatures above 56 ° C for no less than 30 minutes and without the use of chemicals. However, if you usually store fumigated pallets in environments with reduced air circulation such as containers, unwelcome mold growth may occur.
Drying of wooden platforms
Heat treatment of HT fumigated pallets may not be sufficient to prevent mold and bacteria from altering the contents of your packaging during storage and international transport. So much so that before 2010 there was no lack of dispute cases for wooden packaging, despite having been treated in accordance with the ISPM 15 regulation.
To overcome this problem, remove moisture and prevent the formation of mold, it is necessary to drying fumigated pallets. The company performs the drying of all its platforms, an operation that protects the wood from the onset of mold, reduces the weight of the platforms and extends their life.
