La Briccola is the oak wood recovered from the poles of the waters of the Venetian Lagoon that are replaced every 30/40 years and different factors (sun, wind, sea water, etc.) together with a mollusc called Teredinae (which forms the characteristic holes) they give unique characteristics to this type of wood.
The briccole used for the realization of this article are guaranteed by origin and authenticity . They are in fact controlled and validated so that their processing and processing can enhance the unique and priceless properties of wood acquired over the years.
To be guaranteed is not only the origin of briccole used, but also throughout the course of transformation: from lagoon pole precious raw material, process controlled at every stage.

Venetian Briccola Wood:
The Venetian lagoon was very early a major crossroads of commercial land, river and sea routes, junction of communications and routes between East and Northern Europe. The briccole since then were used by sailors to orient themselves and to get some information of that difficult stretch of sea, such as the depth of the seabed and the alternation of the tides. Still these lagoon poles are essential for the regulation of navigation and act as a real road system, indicating routes and navigable canals, as well as being used for mooring.

The origin of the name "Briccole" is uncertain, but it seems that it derives from the breeze (wind), and it is the wind, together with the primordial cycles of water and earth, that determines the role of the tides and the mixing of fresh and salt water and to make this heritage unique in the world.

The briccole are composed of two or more piles, mainly of European oak, tied together and immersed in the lagoon for part of their length, where they remain for years, after which they must be replaced to prevent them from breaking, becoming a danger for naval traffic.

Of these poles, even if numbered, the exact number is not known, it is estimated that they can be between 60,000 and 90,000 units. What is certain is that they are one of the distinctive elements of Venice, through which not only an objective geographical image is consolidated, but also a shared heritage of cultural meanings and representations.
It is no exaggeration to say that each briccola has an autonomous voice, each briccola has its own story to tell, of this place that seems not yet been manipulated by man, narrated by myths and legends.
